Clubhouse Sub-committee
The
Carolina Hotel provided a venue similar in size to the proposed Great Room in
the McLendon Hills Clubhouse. The room
seemed more than adequate for the potential needs of the community.
Other Amenities
Requirements for the additional amenities were
discussed resulting in the following proposed specifications:
Beach
Size
- per Site Plan

- “play sand” or good quality sand
Accessories/equipment
– roped off swim area, rescue equipment (life ring w/rope), lounge chairs,
trash cans, volleyball net and supporting posts, goose repellant.
Picnic Area

– grass, other than concrete pads for picnic tables
Accessories/equipment
– fire pit, 6-10 picnic tables (aluminum, permanently mounted), permanent post
grills (one for every two picnic tables), two gazebos (octagon, as shown on
Site Plan), trash cans, outdoor shower and water fountain
Boat Dock
Size
– 10 feet wide and long enough to accommodate 8 boats allowed on lake
Surface/construction
materials – low maintenance material (Trex type, non-slip)
Accessories/equipment
– gazebo at end of dock (25’x25’ w/built-in benches, design to match octagon
gazebos in picnic area), tie up cleats for 8 boats, electricity receptacles,
fish cleaning station

Playground Sub-committee was formed due to more complex requirements. Sally
Fessendon agreed to chair and organize
the sub-committee.

specifications for the Tennis Courts were presented by the Sub-committee (See
McLendon Hills website).
